Voting machines were problematic pork; Inexpensive optical scanners are better

A few people made a lot of money on computer voting machines. Okay, so they ripped us off. Let's forget it, and just worry about the integrity of our voting system. Perhaps the voting machines could be donated to schools.

Why not have paper ballots and optical scanners?

We'd have a paper trail with no hanging chads, and an inexpensive way to count them. And we've all had lots of practice filling in those little circles on standardized tests.
