He is currently attending college to become a teacher. My child's understanding and the lie they were told that they would be held back a grade level to scare him into taking the exam was unacceptable. I knew as a teacher this was a lie. I didn't need to teach my child how to take a test or how to cope with this situation. There were other more important life lessons to learn as a young Queer child. My child to this day scores high on all their exams and they love to read. I never needed an exam to quantify or validate their intelligence.
